Discipling God's People from Vision to Involvement

How's your Summer going?

That question is definitely a conversation starter.    “It’s been really busy,” we usually say.  The truth is that we have experienced another whirlwind of activity and change.

We were thinking that we would have a fairly slow summer when we planted a little bigger garden and planned the finishing touches on the family room redo.

First Kyle called to tell us that he had accepted a new job in Tucson.  Would we  be available to keep the children while he and Laura finished up business there?  So off to Indy we went and finished the week with the long planned 90th birthday party for Martha’s mom.

Claire arrived back in the lower 48 with three of her children for the birthday bash with big news.  The morning of the trip she and Jon got word that they were relocating back to Louisville (Yeah!).  Would we be available to take care of the children while she went back to finish her job obligations?  We had a wonderful visit with the younger three—camped again on the porch.  Our AK grandchildren were freaked out by the cricket noise.

Kyle’s house sold immediately, PTL.  But Laura, in her eighth month could no longer travel.  Could we come up and meet the packers and movers?  Kyle knew that his mom, a former military wife, was a veteran of packing teams.  So off to Indy we went again.

We filled in our schedule with visits from good friends, Martha’s mom, Ken’s sister, and our homeless grandkids.

Things are winding down now.  We are waiting on our new grandbaby, due August 8, taking day trips to see Jon and Claire’s new home in Louisville (with paintbrush in hand), and keeping plugged into our couples Bible Study.

We have seen God’s hand in all of this—too many miraculous “circumstances” to tell.  Our God is indeed faithful.
