Discipling God's People from Vision to Involvement

Gateway News December 2009
Looking Back
With your prayers,  your gifts, and your encouragement the Lord has done great things at the Gateway Center this year.  He has established the foundations for accelerated opportunities of involvement in every area of the world that He has given into our hands.  The words of Joshua 1:3 challenge us as we move forward.  “Every place where the sole of your feet have tread I have given you.”

In Haiti the Lord brought together 45 church network leaders from 20 key cities that literally encircle the nation for training in strategic intercession.  They are now starting prayer movements that will take their cites and the nation for the Lord.

For the first time we have partnerships with other ministries that will help with development of pure water facilities and with micro finance. This will help build the stability needed for people in our target nations to raise up their own missionaries.

For three years we labored with the Rwandan church to establish both a means of making a living and of equipping the local leaders with sound biblical teaching.  This year the first micro enterprise plans were submitted for start up funding.  Further steps will lead to long-term empowerment by local Rwandan savings associations.  The Gateway Center also trained a team from a church in the Lexington, KY area to go and establish a long-term partnership for theological training of lay leaders.

When Ken left Uganda two years ago, he left 700 trained leaders in mission and evangelism and his materials.  Since then his host has trained another 1100 leaders and brought 1600 to Christ.  Many were Muslim or  part of a powerful demonic cult.
