GCWM-Working with Iglesia Baptisa Shalom Since 2004

Iglesia Baptista Shalom Church in Guatemala City truly has a global vision. They already have one missionary couple in Morocco and have established a mission training school that sends candidates to the U.S. and to Haiti.

The GCWM International Mission Training has already been incorporated into the mission training school curriculum and is being translated into Spanish.

GCWM has trained and led two short-term teams which have established relationships. Teams prayer-walked Guatemalan villages and encouraged local churches connected with Iglesia Baptista Shalom.

The Problem:

Much of the funding for the church's mission programs comes from U.S. sources. While there is a thriving business community, there doesn't seem to be much interest in using their resources for God's Kingdom.

The Plan:

• Continue to work with the missions training school with curriculum.
• Work with the mission staff of Iglesia Baptista Shalom to identify areas where short-term teams of business and professional people could be used to teach Biblical business principles to their peers in Guatemala to help shape priorities and release local means to fund mission efforts.
• Help Guatemalan staff to identify enterprise training options for Guatemalans sent to the Muslim world.
