Nurturing Missionaries and Evaluating Empowerment Strategies

GCWM-Mentoring missionaries since 2004

GCWM began mentoring missionaries called to work with Project Amazon (PAZ). PAZ's vision is to reach 40,000 villages and ultimately send Brazilian missionaries to Portuguese-speaking Africa.

The Problem:

PAZ has an effective discipleship strategy and it's churches are growing, but much of the outreach funding comes from outside sources. Brazil has a growing economy, but not much of the business class is focused on Kingdom projects. Many of those in the church need to develop local means to support their families and the work of the church.

The Goal:

• Strengthen the ties between missionaries and the congregations of their supporting churches and assist those churches in mentoring those missionaries in their care.
• Assist Brazilian churches to evaluate enterprise opportunities.
• Connect Brazilian churches with successful Christian business people who can work with them to provide training in Biblical business principles and skill development. These partnerships would also be used to develop culturally-relevant strategies to build enterprise structures without dependency on outside resources.
