Discipling God's People from Vision to Involvement

Adopt-A-Village

Have you ever had a town named after you? What would you think about having a village with your name on it in the Book of Life?

There are a thousand villages in China who need people to pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send laborers to bring the Good News of Jesus. The task seems overwhelming, but if we take just one village at a time, the difference can be eternal. Our missionary friends have sown the seeds, but it takes many to bring in the harvest, especially in China where missionaries cannot go. For security reasons, their names cannot even be mentioned openly.

In adopting a village, a church or home group would begin by interceding. Then they might correspond with villagers and develop a relationship with people that God brings them. Eventually there might even be a possibility of going to share the Gospel on a personal basis as friend.

In 1 Samuel 30:24, David says that those who stay with the bags have an equal reward as those that go to war. When you are standing in heaven and the Lord shows you the souls that are there because of you, will your name be on a village?

Is the Lord leading you, your church, or your home group to adopt a village for prayer? We would love to hear from you. A thousand villages are waiting.
