Multiplying Your Gifts
We have been blessed by your hearts to use your resources for Kingdom purposes and that you have chosen the Gateway Center as a channel to distribute them. In difficult economic times, being effective kingdom stewards can be especially challenging.We are grateful for your trust in the ministry of the Gateway Center and so we would like to help you leverage your resources through our affiliation with the Kentucky Christian Foundation (KCF). A normal view is to look at your cash on hand and see that it is shrinking so thatyou cannot do much.When you look with “Kingdom eyes”, you can take comfort from the story of the widow’s oil in 2 Kings 4.Elijah said “What do you have?”
She only had a little oil and overwhelming debt.She took what she had and, at the word of the Lord, it multiplied.
Over the next few months we will look at ways that the Lord could multiply your resources both to you and the Kingdom.Some venues will have an impact on God’s Kingdom long after you are celebrating with Jesus.
This month we will take a look at the Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA). A CGA is a simple concept. It is an arrangement that involves a charitable gift and an annuity. You make the gift (part of which is tax deductible), and then you receive fixed annuity payments each year for the remainder of your life. If you wish, you can have the payments go to a family member or friend instead.
Requirements: A minimum of $10,000 is required in cash or publically held securities.
Benefits: ·Immediate Tax Deductions You generally qualify for an immediate tax deduction for a portion of the gift that funds your CGA. ·Immediate Gifts to Charity With a CGA through KCF, it is possible for charity to receive a gift immediately. ·Regular Payments A CGA produces fixed payments for life with rates higher than CD’s. A portion of the income is often tax-free. ·Christian Values In establishing a charitable gift annuity through KCF, you can rest assured that your gift will ultimately be directed to ministries and charities that operate in accordance with Christian values.
